The 106 projects are now expected to generate cumulative production of `5,34,101 crore,comparedwith the original target of `4,56,500 crore. The latest tranche, spread across 10 states,is expected to add `82,243 crore to output and create nearly 10,000 direct jobs, Electronics and IT Secretary S Krishnan said. The latest approvals include projects by GX Group, Centum Electronics, Ennovi Mobility Solutions, Micromax Precision Moulding, Syrma SGS Technology, Rosenberger Interconnect, Jyoti CNC Automation, and Britannia RFID Technologies. The government is now focusing on converting the approvals into operational capacity. Nestle India, for instance, increased advertising spends by more than 40% year-onyear in the June quarter,while Colgate-Palmolive India raised advertising and promotional expenditure 33.7% to `251.9 crore. Marico increased advertising and sales-promotion investments 25.3% and DaburIndia raised such spending 13.6% to `229.5 crore.HUL,the largest spender in absolute terms, increased its outlay 3.7% to `1,657 crore, its highest in nearly three years. The spending spikes come as companies see improving data on trading activityduring CAS — a special trading window to determine the closing price for stocks with futures & options (F&O) contracts — as well as feedback on concerns raised by options traders and other market participants. Pandey emphasised that Sebi cannot react to every suggestion or criticism of the mechanism, which he described as a major market reform.“We are looking at all the suggestions.I have myself seen a number of suggestions which have come from social media.
